From Living Truth to Living Truth2
It was twenty-five years ago when Elroy and I embarked on the adventure of being Living Truth 2. When DeeDee, Russ, Melody and Megan, retired from Living Truth in 1999, Elroy and I thought we should look for other work. Someone asked us, “Why would you not continue?” The idea seemed absurd. “Half the truth” did not sound too appealing; however, with that prompting, we contacted all the churches where we were booked to let them know the change in personnel and offered to come with the two of us. Only two churches declined our offer; the rest said they would be happy to have us. Elroy began learning new (old) instruments, I learned basic hammered dulcimer, and the Lord gave new inspiration for new songs. Wow! What a journey it has been. In 2001, we purchased a new Chevy van and a trailer designed to hold all the instruments and equipment. Here we are now, 402,000 miles later, with the same van and trailer and all our same equipment with a few old instrument additions! How can we ever question God’s faithfulness in leading us, protecting us, blessing us with so many wonderful friends in so many different churches.
Faithfulness
He continues that faithfulness in leading us to retire as Living Truth 2 at the end of 2024. To say this will be quite a transition and adjustment for us is putting it mildly. We do know the Lord is trustworthy, bringing us through all the highs and lows of the last twenty-five years. This assurance allows us to look forward to this new season of our lives with anticipation…with joy… with wonder….I wonder what He has for us now?
So many of you prayed for all of us those years ago when we transitioned from six to two. We would once again ask for your prayers as we seek Him in the year to come.
Anticipation, Joy, and Wonder…..hmmm….three great words as we celebrate the birth of our Messiah!
Blessings to you in Jesus’ Name!
